The restriction for screenshots is a Android setting buried deep into the configurations which is only modifiable if you have rooted your phone. This configuration only applies to apps; not to web pages accessed using your Chrome browser.

1. Use a webpage

If you want to take a picture of your finance app, for example Questrade, simply login in to Questrade.com using your Android browser instead of opening the Questrade app. Then, take your screenshot as normal. Done!

“But my app doesn’t have a website!”

If you are trying to take a screenshot of an app that is blocking screenshots, and does not have a companion website (please post a comment on what app this is) then the following options are for you. They are ordered in by easiest to most difficult/time consuming.

2. Take a literal photo of your screen using another phone or camera

Self explanatory.

3. Mirror your screen and take the picture from your computer
